Oh, man – it’s good to be back.
Before I start writing again, I want to share with you a handful of wonderful interviews for #GirlsRock. For the uninitiated – #GirlsRock is an interview series that highlights women who do cool things.
Holli Nesbitt and I met on Facebook, and I quickly learned how passionate she is about helping people find better health.
During my time at ACN, I’ve seen how challenging network marketing can be. It takes someone special, with people skills and perseverance. You can’t have one without the other – and Holli has both in abundance.
Her own journey in health is incredible, and I’ll let her tell you in her own words.
Please give a warm welcome to our latest #GirlsRock feature, Holli Nesbitt. I know you’ll find inspiration in it, and maybe even your next adventure in wellness or entrepreneurship! She’s shared contact information at the end of the interview.

Eli: When you were little, what did you grow up to be?
Holli: I always knew I wanted to get married and be a mom. In high school, I dreamt of becoming an art teacher or a cosmologist. I’ve always loved creativity and being around people. Interacting with people as part of my daily job was very appealing to me. The love for interaction with people never changed, but my life experiences really changed and shaped my passions and career goals. Funny how much of a different direction you can go in life than what you originally planned!
Eli: How much do you get to interact with people in your current job?
Holli: Every day! I love it! I run a health and wellness group on Facebook called Living Life Naturally and also am privileged to do network marketing for a health and wellness company. I get to talk to people everyday about nontoxic lifestyle and what they can do to heal their body from the inside out. I love that I get to help people. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone’s health issues turn around and improve because they were empowered and given resources.
I’m also a mom of three. I have one child still preschool age at home with me, so I get to talk a lot about cartoons too! Hahaha
Eli: Cartoons are the best! How do you balance being a mom and an entrepreneur?
Holli: It can be a challenge some weeks because some weeks are busier than others. That’s the great thing about entrepreneurship. You can take a break when needed and aren’t tied to a 9-to-5 job. Residual income is a true blessing as well.

Eli: Explain how residual income works for you, and what a huge difference it makes in your life.
Holli: Residual income is making money while you sleep! I’m able to help empower people to take their health back with lifestyle changes, but also grow a team of people who have the same goal. Having residual income is great because it frees up more time for me to work with people instead of a 9-to-5 job that only pays while you are there. It’s really neat to see that grow as a ripple effect and make those long lasting connections with others.
I’ve been blessed, and have made some really amazing friends in this industry.
It’s neat to be a part of helping someone live a healthier life. Having a business that addresses health and wellness and also teamwork is a really amazing combination.
Eli: In network marketing, things change when you realize putting the focus on helping others is your best bet in business. What was that revelation like for you?
Holli: People and good health are 100% priceless. You don’t realize how much of your health you take for granted until you lose it. I realized that long before joining this business while on my own health journey. I really believe the love of money is the root of all evil. Money isn’t evil, but loving it more than anything else really leads to problems. When you focus on pouring your time into others rather than the dollar you come out far more “rich.” Good health and relationships with others are truly priceless.
Eli: Tell me a little about your health struggle journey.
Holli: I had “mystery” health issues for several years. It all started with GI pain that continued to increase in intensity and consistency about nine months after purchasing our new home at the time. I exhausted several local Gastroenterologists. One doctor even told me this was all in my head. That was prior to my autoimmune diagnosis. I remember being so happy when I finally got the diagnosis! Ironic right? I went gluten free and also ended up getting pregnant all within the next six weeks. Crazy!
My health improved during my pregnancy but five months after having my son, my dad passed away and a lot of my health issues flared up. I know now a lot of autoimmunities go into remission during pregnancy and stress contributes highly to autoimmunity.
I continually had ongoing GI pain despite my gluten-free diet. This went on for two years. I was miserable. I decided to hire a holistic nutritionist that followed functional medicine practices and boy did I get an education! She discovered that I had several GI infections, some genetic markers that make it hard for me to detox, as well as some other autoimmune markers. It was pretty eye-opening and overwhelming. At this point I had developed a lot of food sensitivities because of all the GI damage and inflammation.
My belly hurt with everything I ate. We went to work tackling each issue, but I had a hard time. It was around that same time I saw another girl on social media talking about mycotoxin mold illness and how it was making her sick. I had never heard of that before, but at this point we were trying really hard to figure out what was wrong with me. We had our house tested and sure enough we had very high levels of mycotoxins in the air. Because of my genetics it was a trigger to a lot of my health issues.
This is another reason I’m so passionate about sharing on social media. You never know how your story can change someone else’s life.

The mycotoxin molds were the root of how all my illness started because it negatively impacted my immune system. Long story short, we were forced to move and throw away 60% of our belongings. It was devastating emotionally and financially. At this point I was 92 pounds, in terrible GI pain constantly, had yellowing skin, and really thought I was going to die in the near future. It was a very scary time for my husband and me. Out of desperation I started getting IV therapy in an attempt to get some nutrition in me.
I started working with a functional medicine doctor and he zeroed in on my issues and also found some lyme markers. As if I wasn’t sick enough! At this point I was going on more than three years of constant health issues.
Ultimately, I found a lot of healing through functional medicine. We focused on healing the body as a whole. We focused on supporting the entire body and detoxifying the body. Changing my lifestyle was an absolute must. We replaced our house with non toxic items and really implemented natural methods in every area we could. We were on that path and I was seeing signs of improvement but I would also have steps back or times where I felt as if I was stuck in progression. It really led me to dig a little bit deeper.

I met a girl on social media who was talking about products that helped support the entire body and reduce inflammation. I wasn’t sure at the time if they were right for me. I’m a big researcher so I took seven months to read all about it, read studies, science, and also brought it to my doctor. He gave it the okay and so began another level of my healing journey. I’m still working on healing fully but to date I’ve come 95% of the way and I’m really grateful! Healing takes time, but it also takes work!
Going through those experiences really changed me. I really developed a passion for natural living and also a passion to help others. So many suffer daily with chronic illness and I’d love to help change that for as many people as I can. I plan to become a certified health coach, but I decided to promote these products as well. They were such a huge piece to the “puzzle” in my health journey I just feel I have a responsibility to share it. I’m still working on healing and I focus heavily on nutrition, non-toxic lifestyle, and putting good things in my body, like this product, every day.
I’ve learned that inflammation, toxicity, a damaged gut, and nutritional deficiencies are four leading causes of chronic diseases.
If we can address those areas I truly know it can make a big positive impact. The body truly does have an amazing ability to heal itself! Today im 95% better and I thank the Lord everyday for that!
Eli: That’s awesome. What else should we know about you and this journey with Living Life Naturally that I haven’t asked?
Holli: Trying to live a non-toxic and healthy lifestyle is challenging in this day and age. We are constantly bombarded by EMFs, chemicals, pesticides, etc. I started a health and wellness group on Facebook so I could share health and wellness tips I’ve learned along my healing journey in an effort to help others. We all need support and encouragement. It’s also really nice to connect with like-minded people! I’d love to invite anyone to join. It’s called Living Life Naturally on Facebook. Some of my good friends have been met online through social media! Its my goal to create a community of support and resources for anyone wanting to stay healthy or get healthy!
If you are in the health and wellness industry you should know about this product to help your patients or clients! The business is fantastic. We have many doctors on our team. If you love coaching people you would love this business as well. It’s so rewarding being able to help others. This health journey has really challenged me to research everything. With this company there’s so much valid science and an amazing community of people just like me that really want to help others and make a difference.
Trust me, after being sick for so long and seeking answers, it feels really peaceful having found such a gem, but also a great community.

Eli: Thanks, Holli – one last thing. What advice would you give young women when considering a career path like yours?
Holli: I recently attended a John Maxwell event and he had some rock-solid advice that really inspired me. He said the connection with people is essential in any business. People won’t go with you unless they know like and trust you. You have to believe in yourself and your purpose. Both, not just one. Isn’t that with anything in life though? Most things start with trust. If you’ve come from a scary place in your health you likely already have the empathy and compassion for others who are struggling.
I believe that would give you an amazing foundation for helping others and being successful. Maybe you’re totally healthy and just appreciate health and wellness and you want to help educate others on how to stay healthy. That’s so important too!
What matters is your heart for others and your willingness to learn and work hard. We live in a sad, scary, sick world. The CDC said 6 in 10 people live with a chronic illness. That’s heartbreaking! Most families struggle financially and need more money. People are looking for answers and our company has solutions to both! We are backed by science and studies. We really bring a lot of value in all aspects.
If you want to make a positive impact and difference in people’s lives you’re a fantastic candidate for this company! You just may not realize it yet! Believe in yourself. Be authentic. Be bold. Be brave. Be transparent. Be honest. Believe 100% that you can make a huge difference in so many lives!

What a great interview I don’t even know where to start. Probably because Im at the point in my own chronic illness where I can no longer balance in between following a strict diet and winging it. I can’t wait to check out this community because making these big changes is easier with support of people who understand! Thanks for sharing your story with us Holli!

Thanks so much for sharing Holli’s journey. I can’t imagine how devastating that must have been to do such a lengthy of elimination for years to get to the root of the health issue but glad she was able to figure it out! That’s so scary that mold in her home was causing so many problems for her, but glad she was able to determine the cause!
Charlotte! Great to see you. You’ve been on my mind too. Hi!
Glad you enjoyed this post. She had some incredible lows, but look at her now! I love how she’s turned that into an opportunity to help so many others.

I named my oldest daughter holli (same spelling), and people rarely get it right ). good to see you, Eli –
Yes, there had to be considerable effort! Thanks Beth. Great to see you too!
Beth, Ive spelled my name probably over a thousand times in my life 😂 Its neat to hear someone else has the same spelling. It is rare. You know whats even more rare? The girl that introduced me to the lifevantage products is named Holli and she has the same middle name to! Ann. If that isn’t even more crazy!! The products helped me so much and were life changing. Its so crazy how everything works out! I always thought it was so odd! I guess there are more Holi’s out there than we think. Lol https://www.facebook.com/groups/820504251659465/
It’s great to hear from you, and you picked a fabulous person to interview for your return. There’s always so much to learn about our health!
Meems! Great to see you here. Nice way to get back in the game, right? I’ve learned a lot from Holli.
Hi Mimi, Eli is an amazing writer and blogger. I felt so honored he asked. Id love to stay connected! https://www.facebook.com/groups/820504251659465/
What a fabulous interview Eli. Holli is an inspiring woman and, though I don’t have chronic pain, I can relate to so much that she said. I love this line “When you focus on pouring your time into others rather than the dollar you come out far more “rich.” Good health and relationships with others are truly priceless.” That’s so true. Thanks for introducing us to another wellness warrior. Loved this.
Thank you Miri! We can all gain inspiration just from her determination not only to improve her own life, but those around her. So true about richness, and can you imagine if more people adopted this approach? Good health and relationships are what make a good life!
So glad you enjoyed this.
